Presenting a Rajasthani take on Buddhist and Hindu architecture and tradition with our Embroidered Indian wall / door hangings 3ft x 1ft approx (36in x 12in).

The Toran (Sanskrit. torana, from tor, pass) is a term in Hinduism for a scared honorific gateway. It is also used in Buddhist architecture where its typical form is a projecting cross-piece resting on two uprights or posts.

• Each wall hanging is made from 100% cotton and is embroidered in front using brightly coloured threads.
• The top of the hanging is decorated with beautifully embroidered floral patterns using red, orange and green coloured threads. with each flower adorned with 5 mirrors.
  
• Marigolds are usually used in Poojas (prayers) in Hindu festivals.
  
• The Torans are also decorated at the bottom with further floral patterns depicting harmony with nature. Please see close up pictures for details of the embroidery.
